The Detroit Tigers have dropped six of their previous ten games and are nine games clear of Kansas City for the top spot in the AL Central Division standings. On Monday, leadoff hitter Jahmal Jones collected four of Detroit’s 14 and scored a pair of runs. The Tigers (80-59) went 2-for-14 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.

Twenty-seven year old righty Sawyer Gibson-Long (4.32 ERA) will make his seventh start of the year for the Tigers. Through 45 innings of work, Gibson-Long has fanned 46 batters and owns a sparkling 1.04 WHIP.
