The Philadelphia Phillies have won seven of their last ten games and are eight games clear of New York for first place. During Monday’s home victory, Philadelphia’s only run came in the second inning on a Nick Castellanos single that scored Max Kepler. SP Aaron Nola (4-8) fanned seven batters across six shutout frames to earn the win for the Phillies (84-60), who improved to 46-23 at home.

Philadelphia manager Rob Thomson will turn to talented lefty Ranger Suarez (116- 2.89 ERA) on Tuesday. The Phillies have won Suarez’s previous four starts (24.2 IP) and he has allowed just three runs over that stretch.
