During Friday’s home victory, OF Dylan Crews homered and scored three runs to spark the Washington offense. SS C.J. Abrams added a two-run single for the Nationals (76-84), who improved to 38-41 at home.
The Nationals will counter with twenty-nine year old righty Jake Irvin (2-9 5.40 ERA) on Saturday. Control has been an issue for Irvin, who has walked 46 batters and surrendered 18 long balls across 101 plus frames. In his last start, Irvin (5.1 IP) did not walk a batter during a 5-3 road loss against St. Louis.
