Last night, Baltimore batters went 3-for-12 with runners in scoring position and left ten men on base during a 7-6 road loss against Tampa Bay. 3B Christian Encarnacion-Strand went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs for the Orioles (61-64). Baltimore DH Pete Alonso crushed his 28th home run and 1B Coby Mayo also went deep.
Baltimore manager Craig Albernaz will turn to twenty-seven year old righty Shane Baz (4-12 4.00 ERA) in the series opener. The Orioles have dropped Baz’s previous five starts and he has allowed 14 runs (10 ER) across his last 27 plus frames.
