Thirty-three year old southpaw Carlos Rodon (1-2 2.88 ERA) will make his sixth start of the year for the Yankees. Last time out, Rodon (6 IP) allowed one run and fanned seven batters during a 2-1 home victory versus Cleveland.

Guardians Preview

The Cleveland Guardians have dropped seven of their previous 11 games and hold a one-game lead over Chicago for the top spot in the AL Central Division. During Tuesday’s home loss, Cleveland batters went 2-for-10 with runners in scoring position and left 13 men on base. All-Star 3B Jose Ramirez went 2-for-5 and scored a run for the Guardians (37-32), who fell to 17-16 at home.

The Guardians will counter with twenty-five year old southpaw Parker Messick (6-2 2.40 ERA) on Wednesday. Through 75 innings of work, Messick has retired 78 batters by strikes and owns a sparkling 1.07 WHIP.
