Twenty-six year old righty Will Warren (6-1 3.61 ERA) will take the mound for the Yankees in this matchup. Last time out, Warren (5 IP) gave up six hits and three runs during a 5-4 home victory versus Toronto.

Royals Preview

The Kansas City Royals have dropped eight of their previous ten games and are a disappointing 9.5 games off the pace in the AL Central Division race. On Sunday, veteran C Salvador Perez went 3-for-4 with three RBIs to lead Kansas City to an 8-6 home victory versus Seattle. OF Isaac Collins added two hits and scored twice for the Royals (22-31), who improved to 15-14 at home.

Kansas City manager Matt Quatraro has not announced a starting pitcher for the series opener. The Royals currently rank 18th in the majors with a 4.16 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP. Kansas City’s starting rotation has notched an impressive 27 quality starts.
