In Thursday afternoon MLB playoff action, the Philadelphia Phillies will square off against the Los Angeles Dodgers from Dodgers Stadium. Twenty-eight year old southpaw Cristopher Sanchez (13-5 2.50 ERA) will head to the hill for the Phillies in this matchup. In the series opener, Sanchez (5.2 IP) allowed two runs and struck out eight batters during a 5-3 home loss.

Dodgers Preview

The Los Angeles Dodgers won 52 of 81 home games during the regular season and are trying to become the first team to win consecutive World Series since the New York Yankees (1998-2000). During Wednesday’s home loss, Los Angeles left eight men on base and committed a pair of errors. 2B Tommy Edman went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs in a losing effort for the Dodgers.

Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts will give the nod to hard-throwing righty Tyler Glasnow (4-3 3.19 ERA) on Thursday. Through 90 plus innings, Glasnow has retired 106 batters by strikes and owns a solid 1.10 WHIP.
