NL East Division rivals will square off on Saturday afternoon, when the Philadelphia Phillies battle the New York Mets from Citi Field. Be ready for the baseball season with all of our MLB predictions. The Phillies (46-36) are riding a four-game winning streak and trail first place Atlanta by 3.5 games. Last night, SS Trea Turner went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored to spark Philadelphia to a 2-1 road victory against New York. All-Star 1B Bryce Harper contributed three hits and scored a run for the Phillies.

Twenty-eight year old righty Alan Rangel (2.25 ERA) will make his third appearance of the year for the Phillies. Last time out, Rangel (5 IP) gave up five hits and one run during a 4-1 road loss against Washington.

Mets Preview

The New York Mets have been decimated by injuries this season and fired manager Carlos Montoya on Friday. The Mets (34-48) are in the midst of a seven-game losing streak and are stuck in the division cellar. During Friday’s home loss, New York batters managed just five hits and struck out seven times. 1B Jared Young delivered a fourth inning single that scored Bo Bichette with the only run for the Mets.

Newly named interim New York manager Andy Green has not announced a starting pitcher for this matchup. The Mets currently rank in the middle of the pack with a 4.17 ERA and own a respectable 1.29 WHIP. New York starters have logged a disappointing 17 quality starts.
