On Sunday, OF Billy Cook went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and drove in a pair of runs to lead Pittsburgh to a 7-1 road triumph against Cleveland.

Twenty-six year old righty Braxton Ashcraft (9-3 3.49 ERA) will take the mound for the Pirates in this matchup. Ashcraft, who made his first All-Star Game roster, has notched ten quality starts and ranks ninth in the majors with 128 strikeouts.

Yankees Preview

The New York Yankees have split their previous ten games and are sitting atop the American League Wild Card standings. During the first game of yesterday’s doubleheader, New York SP Cam Schittler (9-6) gave up three runs across four plus innings during an 8-2 home loss versus the Los Angeles Dodgers. Trent Grisham crushed his 11th long ball in a losing effort for the Yankees (54-44), who fell to 23-22 at home.

New York manager Aaron Boone will give the nod to twenty-seven year old righty Will Warren (7-4 4.03 ERA) on Monday. Last time out, Warren (5 IP) allowed four hits and one run during a 5-3 road victory against Washington.
