Rookie right-hander Bubba Chandler (7.36 ERA) will make his second career major league start for the Pirates. In his first start, Chandler (2.2 IP) was tagged for nine hits and nine runs during a 10-2 home loss versus Milwaukee.

Nationals Preview

The Washington Nationals have won eight of their last 11 games and own the second worst record in the National League. During Friday’s home victory, OF Dylan Crews crushed a two-run blast in the seventh inning to put Washington ahead to stay. All-Star OF James Wood contributed two hits and scored twice for the Nationals (61-86), who improved to 30-42 at home.

Rookie left-hander Andrew Alvarez (1-0 1.86 ERA) will make his third career major league start for the Nationals. Last time out, Alvarez allowed two runs and lasted four plus innings during a 6-3 road victory against Chicago.
