Last night, San Diego 1B Ty France homered twice and drove in five runs during a 9-7 road loss against Texas.

Thirty-one year old righty Walker Buehler (4-3 4.14 ERA) is quietly pitching well for the Padres. In his last start, Buehler (5 IP) scattered six hits and limited Baltimore to one run during a 5-2 home victory. For the year, Buehler has allowed just five long balls across 67 plus frames.

Rangers Preview

The Texas Rangers are a game above .500 at home and are just 2.5 games out of first place in the AL West Division standings. During Friday’s home victory, Texas answered San Diego’s five run opening frame with six of their own. OF Wyatt Langford fell a triple shot of the cycle and drove in a pair of runs. 3B Josh Jung went 2-for-4 and scored three times for the Rangers (36-39).

The Rangers will counter with thirty-six year old righty Nathan Eovaldi (6-7 4.23 ERA) on Saturday. Last time out, Eovaldi lasted seven innings and gave up three runs during a 6-4 road victory against Boston. Eovaldi ranks 32nd in the majors with a solid 1.17 WHIP.
