Three-time Cy Young Award winner Justin Verlander (3-10 3.94 ERA) will head to the hill for the Giants in this contest. Last time out, Verlander (7 IP) allowed four hits and one run during a 5-1 home victory versus Los Angeles.

Diamondbacks Preview

The Arizona Diamondbacks have reeled off four straight victories and trail New York by 1.5 games for the final NL Wild Card spot. On Tuesday, Arizona walked it off in the bottom of the ninth inning on a Jordan Lawler infield single that scored Corbin Carroll. Adrian Del Castro added a two-run shot for the Diamondbacks (77-75), who improved to 40-34 at home.

Twenty-six year old righty Brandon Pfaadt (13-8 5.31 ERA) will take the ball for the Diamondbacks in this game. In his last start, Pfaadt (4,2 IP) was roughed up for nine hits and five runs during a 9-8 road loss against Minnesota.
