Seattle Mariners Preview
Seattle’s bats have cooled, scoring only four total runs across the last two defeats. Cal Raleigh continues to be the most reliable threat, hitting .333 this postseason with four home runs and a .435 on-base percentage. Josh Naylor has added steady contact at .325, while Jorge Polanco leads the club with eight RBIs. Julio Rodríguez has shown power with three home runs but continues to strike out at a high rate. For Seattle to advance, production at the top of the order must return.
The Mariners have struggled to contain Toronto’s lineup at Rogers Centre, allowing a combined 19 runs in the last three games there. The bullpen has been heavily used, and early command from the starter will be critical to keep the Blue Jays from jumping ahead.
Toronto Blue Jays Preview
Toronto’s lineup has driven this comeback. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been outstanding, batting .457 with five home runs and 11 RBIs in the postseason. Ernie Clement is hitting .429, and George Springer has three homers while also providing timely hits. The Blue Jays are batting .293 in the playoffs and have found success attacking fastballs early in counts. That approach helped them even the series in Game 6.
The Blue Jays have limited Seattle to two runs in two of the last three games. Strong defensive play and consistent bullpen work have helped lead the club, especially when playing at home. Another balanced effort at the plate could send Toronto back to the World Series.
Pitching Matchup
Seattle: George Kirby (0–1, 7.07 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, 14.0 IP, 18 K)
Toronto: Shane Bieber (1–0, 4.15 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, 8.2 IP, 10 K)
Bieber has been more consistent this postseason, resulting in a much lower ERA than Kirby, albeit over nearly six fewer innings. Kirby’s strikeout rate remains high, but home runs and a lack of command at times have hurt him. The advantage goes to Bieber, who has kept runners on base to a minimum and handled pressure situations.
Seattle Mariners vs. Toronto Blue Jays Prediction
Toronto’s combination of contact hitting and sharper overall pitching gives it the upper hand. Bieber’s control and Guerrero’s dominance at the plate will carry the Blue Jays to a decisive Game 7 victory. Final Score Prediction: Toronto Blue Jays win 5–3
