Twenty-six year old righty Bryan Woo (5-3 3.44 ERA) will take the mound for the Mariners in this matchup. In his last start, Woo fired seven shutout frames and fanned nine batters during a 5-1 home victory versus Arizona.

Tigers Preview

The Detroit Tigers are flying high after a three-game sweep and outscored Tampa Bay by a whopping 25-11 margin. On Wednesday, Detroit DH Dillon Dingler started the scoring with an RBI single and added a three-run blast during a 7-2 road victory. 2B Gleyber Torres contributed three hits and scored three runs for the Tigers (25-38), who improved to 11-24 on the road.

Detroit skipper A.J. Hinch will give the nod to struggling left-hander Framber Valdez (2-4 4.39 ERA) in the series opener. The Tigers have dropped Valdez’s previous five starts and he has surrendered 21 runs (18 ER) across his last 27 plus frames.
