Twenty-five year old righty Michael McGreevy (7-3 4.08 ERA) will make his 15th start of the year for the Cardinals. Last time out, McGreevy tossed seven shutout innings and fanned six batters during a 3-0 home victory versus Cincinnati.

Giants Preview

The San Francisco Giants have dropped seven of their previous ten games and are three games back in the race for the final NL Wild Card spot. On Sunday, Patrick Bailey delivered an RBI double and scored a run to spark San Francisco to a 3-1 road victory against Los Angeles. Christian Koss added a pair of hits and scored for the Giants (77-79).

Three-time Cy Young Award winner Justin Verlander (3-10 3.75 ERA) is still pitching effectively at age forty-two. The Giants have won four of Verlander’s previous five starts and he has allowed just three runs total over that stretch.
