Twenty-nine year old southpaw Shane McClanahan (8-5 2.83 ERA) will head to the hill for the Rays in this contest. Tampa Bay has won McClanahan’s previous two starts and he has not allowed a run across his last 12 plus frames.

Red Sox Preview

The Boston Red Sox have reeled off 12 straight victories and have moved into sole possession of third place in the American League Wild Card standings. During yesterday’s home victory, OF Wilyer Abreu clubbed a two-run blast to cap a four-run seventh inning Boston rally. Jahmai Jones added a two-run shot for the Red Sox (49-48), who improved to 20-27 at home.

Boston interim manager Chad Tracy will give the nod to veteran right-hander Sonny Gray (11-1 2.54 ERA) on Sunday. The Red Sox have won Gray’s previous four starts and he has allowed just three runs across his last 26 plus innings.
