Guardians Preview

The Cleveland Guardians are three games above .500 at home and are tied with Detroit atop the AL Central Division standings. On Sunday, Cleveland batters went 2-for-8 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base during a 4-2 road loss against Toronto. SP Slade Cecconi (0-4) gave up four runs in five plus innings and took the loss for the Guardians.

Twenty-five year old left-hander Parker Messick (3-0 1.76 ERA) is off to a strong start to the season. The Guardians have won Messick’s first five starts and have provided him 28 runs of support. Messick ranks ninth in the majors with a 0.88 WHIP.
