Thirty year old right-hander Drew Rasmussen (4-1 3.19 ERA) will make his tenth start of the year for the Rays. Last time out, Rasmussen (5.1 IP) scattered seven hits and allowed a pair of runs during a 6-3 home victory versus Miami.

Yankees Preview

The New York Yankees have dropped seven of their previous 11 games and are 5.5 games behind Tampa Bay for first place. During Friday’s home loss, New York batters went 2-for-12 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base. 2B Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 2-for-4 with an RBI triple for the Yankees (30-22), who fell to 16-9 at home.

New York manager Aaron Boone will turn to twenty-six year old lefty Ryan Weathers (2-2 3.58 ERA) on Saturday. Through 50 plus innings, Weathers ranks 16th in the majors with 61 strikeouts and owns a solid 1.13 WHIP.
