The Toronto slugger has been at the center of a Blue Jays offense that has scored 24 runs in the past three games. Ernie Clement (.452) and Daulton Varsho (.281) continue to deliver timely hits, while Toronto’s pitching has improved, giving up just six runs in the last two games after allowing 13 in the first two.
Kevin Gausman takes the mound with a 2.38 ERA and 0.88 WHIP across two playoff starts. The right-hander has allowed only seven hits in 11.1 innings and has kept the ball in the strike zone, walking just three. Toronto’s bullpen, which has held opponents to a .241 average in October, is rested after back-to-back effective outings. The combination of Gausman’s control and a talented bullpen gives Toronto a slight advantage entering Game 5.
Seattle Mariners Preview
Seattle has dropped both games at home after winning the first two in Toronto. The Mariners are hitting .215 as a team this postseason and have struggled to score in bunches. Cal Raleigh has been their most reliable hitter with a .314 average and three home runs, while Jorge Polanco has added eight RBI. Julio Rodríguez needs to get on base more often at the top of the order for the middle of the lineup to drive him in.
