Last night, Toronto SS Andres Gimenez’s two-run double was all the offense Toronto could muster during a 3-2 road loss against Detroit.

Toronto manager John Schneider has not announced a starting pitcher for this matchup. The Blue Jays currently rank in the middle of the pack with a 4.13 ERA. Toronto pitchers have combined for a respectable 1.30 WHIP, but have logged just 11 quality starts.

Tigers Preview

The Detroit Tigers have won 13 of their first 19 home games and are four games off the pace in the AL Central Division race. During Friday’s home victory, Detroit walked it off in the ninth inning on a Spencer Torkelson single that scored Matt Vierling with the winning run. C Dillon Dingler added a pair of hits and scored a run for the Tigers (20-25).

The Tigers will give the ball to 2018 number one overall draft pick Casey Mize (2-2 2.90 ERA) on Saturday. Mize, who has been sidelined since late April with a thigh injury, has struck out 35 batters across 31 frames this season.
