Three-time Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (5-2 4.11 ERA) will make his 14th start of the year for the Blue Jays. Through 70 innings, Scherzer has surrendered an alarming 15 long balls and owns a solid 1.13 WHIP.

Yankees Preview

The New York Yankees have won eight of their previous 11 games and are sitting in second place in the AL Wild Card standings. During Friday’s home loss, New York’s lone run came on a 418-foot bomb to left center by Giancarlo Stanton. Rookie SP Cam Schlittler (2-3) was tagged for four runs and recorded just five outs for the Yankees (78-63), who saw their record fall to 41-29 at home.

New York manager Aaron Boone will give the nod to talented right-hander Luis Gil (2-1 3.68 ERA) on Saturday. Last time out, Gil (5.1 IP) gave up two runs and fanned seven batters during a 3-2 road loss against Chicago.

Blue Jays vs Yankees Pick

Toronto OF Anthony Santander (shoulder) is expected to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday. Through 141 games, Toronto ranks 10th in OPS and 2nd in runs scored.
