The Cincinnati Reds are three games above .500 at home and are tied with Pittsburgh for last place in the NL Central Division. On Sunday, SS Elly De La Cruz collected three hits and scored twice to spark Cincinnati to a 5-0 home victory versus Houston. SP Andrew Abbott (2-2) fanned five batters and lasted six innings to earn the win for the Reds (22-19).

Cincinnati skipper Terry Francona will turn to twenty-nine year old righty Brady Singer (2-2 5.63 ERA) in the series opener. Through 38 plus innings, Singer has served up eight long balls and sports a subpar 1.64 WHIP.
