Thirty-seven year old righty Miles Mikolas (1-3 6.17 ERA) will take the mound for the Nationals in this matchup. Last time out, Mikolas fired five shutout frames and did not walk a batter during a 5-4 road loss against Atlanta.

Guardians Preview

The Cleveland Guardians have won seven of their last ten games and hold a three-game cushion over Chicago for the top spot in the AL Central Division. During Tuesday’s home loss, Cleveland batters went 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base. All-Star 3B Jose Ramirez drove in a pair of runs for the Guardians (32-25), who fell to 15-12 at home.

Twenty-six year old righty Gavin Williams (7-3 3.25 ERA) is making a strong case for his first All-Star Game appearance. Through 69 innings of work, Williams ranks fourth in the majors with 84 strikeouts and owns a solid 1.11 WHIP.
