Rookie left-hander Jackson Kent (0-1 9.39 ERA) will make his third career major league start for the Nationals. Control has been a major problem for Kent, who has issued eight walks in his first seven plus innings. Last time out, Kent was roughed up for five runs in three plus innings during a 5-0 road loss against Texas.

Marlins Preview

The Miami Marlins (66-64) have won consecutive games and are 3.5 games back in the race for the final National League Wild Card spot. During Saturday’s home victory, Miami jumped on the scoreboard in the opening frame on an Otto Lopez two-run double. Jakob Marsee and Heriberto Hernandez each homered for the Marlins (66-64), who improved to an impressive 40-25 at home.

Miami manager Clayton McCullough will give the nod to thirty year old right-hander Janson Junk (6-8 4.37 ERA) in the series finale. In his last start, Junk (5 IP) gave up eight hits and a pair of runs during a 6-5 road loss against Philadelphia.
