Last night, Washington rookie OF Daylen Lile went 2-for-4 with an RBI triple and a run scored during an 8-3 road loss against Miami.

Twenty-five year old righty Brad Lord (4.20 ERA) has experienced mixed results since being thrust into the Washington rotation. In his last start, Lord (5.2 IP) allowed one run and fanned seven batters during a 2-1 road victory against Chicago.

Marlins Preview

The Miami Marlins have dropped seven of their previous 11 games and are on the verge of being eliminated from postseason contention. During Wednesday’s home victory, leadoff hitter Xavier Edwards went 3-for-5 with a three-run blast and scored three times to spark the Miami offense. OF Jakob Marsee collected four hits and scored a run for the Marlins (67-79), who improved to 33-41 at home.

Twenty-five year old southpaw Ryan Weathers (1-1 3.28 ERA) will be activated from the 60-day injured list to start for the Marlins. Weathers, who was sidelined with a lat injury, has struck out 23 batters across 24 plus frames this season.
