Thirty year old right-hander Foster Griffin (7-2 3.63 ERA) will take the mound for the Nationals in this matchup. In his last start, Griffin (5 IP) allowed just two hits and one run during a dominant 14-1 road victory against Arizona.

Giants Preview

The San Francisco Giants have dropped 18 of their first 30 home games and are a distant fourth place in the NL West Division standings. During Tuesday’s home loss, San Francisco batters went 3-for-12 with runners in scoring position and left 13 men on base. OF Jung Hoo Lee had a two-run double and DH Bryce Eldridge added a solo shot in a losing effort for the Giants, who fell to a disappointing 27-41 overall.

San Francisco rookie skipper Tony Vitello will turn to veteran left-hander Robbie Ray (4-6 4.12 ERA) in the series finale. Last time out, Ray fired five shutout frames and fanned four batters during a 18-3 road triumph against Chicago.
