The Hawks (2-3) have assembled some quality perimeter defenders to compliment All-Star G Trae Young, but still rank 21st in defensive efficiency. On Wednesday, Atlanta built a 13-point halftime advantage and held on for a 117-112 road victory against Brooklyn.

Athletic F Jalen Johnson led a balanced Atlanta scoring attack with 23 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Luke Kennard knocked down 4-for-5 from the three-point line and finished with 17 points. Onyeka Okongwu added 12 points and 14 rebounds for the Hawks.

Pacers Preview

The Indiana Pacers are fresh off a surprise run to the NBA Finals and will be forced to play without All-Star G Tyrese Haliburton (Achilles) this season. The Pacers (0-4) rank near the bottom of the league in offensive efficiency and are averaging 113.3 points per contest. On Wednesday, Indiana missed 32 of 45 three-point attempts during a 107-105 road loss against Dallas.

All-Star F Pascal Siakam tallied a game-high 27 points on 9-for-23 shooting and grabbed 13 rebounds. Indiana F Jarace Walker was an inefficient 5-for-19 from the field and finished with 20 points. Ray J. Dennis added 17 points, five rebounds, and five assists off the bench for the Pacers.
