The Celtics (0-3) will be forced to play without injured F Jayson Tatum (Achilles) this season and could miss the playoffs for the first time since 2014. This will be the second of a back-to-back on the road for Boston, who missed 30 of 45 three-point attempts during yesterday’s 119-113 road loss against Detroit.

All-Star G Jaylen Brown poured in a game-high 41 points on 12-for-25 shooting and pulled down six boards. Payton Pritchard added 21 points (8-16 FG) and ten rebounds for the Celtics, who were pummeled on the glass by a 54-38 margin.

Pelicans Preview

The New Orleans Pelicans have missed the playoffs in five of the previous seven seasons and have not won a playoff series since 2018. The Pelicans (0-2) dealt talented F Brandon Ingram to Toronto at last year’s trade deadline and will be playing without injured G Dejounte Murray (Achilles) until at least January. On Friday, New Orleans took visiting San Antonio to overtime before falling by a 120-116 final score.

Zion Williamson led five New Orleans players in double figures with 27 points (8-18 FG), ten rebounds, and seven assists. Trey Murphy scored 24 points to go along with ten boards and five assists. Jordan Poole added 21 points and five assists for the Pelicans, who were outrebounded by a 59-45 margin.
