The Hornets (1-1) have missed the playoffs in nine straight seasons and have the talent to end that streak. Last night, Charlotte was outscored by 14 points during the fourth quarter of a disappointing 125-121 road loss against Philadelphia.

LaMelo Ball led five Charlotte players in double figures with 27 points (8-18 FG), nine rebounds, and eight assists. Collin Sexton scored 21 points on 7-for-13 shooting and dished out seven assists. Miles Bridges added 18 points (6-18 FG), ten rebounds, and seven assists for the Hornets.

Wizards Preview

The Washington Wizards have selected nine players in the first round of the previous three NBA drafts and are being patient with player development. The Wizards (1-1) ranked last in the NBA in offensive efficiency a season ago and have not sniffed the postseason in six of the last seven years. On Friday, Washington outscored Dallas by 13 points during the second quarter of a 117-107 road triumph.

Washington F Kyshawn George connected on 7-for-9 from long distance and finished with a game-high 34 points. Tre Johnson scored 17 points (7-13 FG) in 26 minutes off the bench. Former number two overall draft pick Alex Sarr added 14 points, nine rebounds, and five assists for the Wizards.
