The Cavaliers (51-29) are riding a four-game winning streak and trail New York by a half-game for third place in the Eastern Conference standings. On Wednesday, Cleveland outscored Atlanta by 24 points in the third quarter and held on for a 122-116 home victory.

All-Star G Donovan Mitchell tallied a game-high 31 points (12-19 FG), seven rebounds, and four assists. Cleveland F Evan Mobley contributed 22 points on 8-for-15 shooting and grabbed 19 rebounds. All-Star G James Harden added 21 points (6-23 FG) and five boards for the Cavaliers.

Hawks Preview

The Atlanta Hawks are six games above .500 at home and are clinging to a half-game lead over Toronto for fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings. The Hawks (45-35) have improved to ninth in the league in defensive efficiency and are giving up 115.9 points per contest. During Wednesday’s road loss, Atlanta turned the ball over 13 times which led to 25 Cleveland points.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker led seven Atlanta players in double figures with 25 points (10-19 FG) and four rebounds. Jonathan Kuminga scored 24 points on 11-for-20 shooting in 30 minutes off the bench. Onyeka Okongwu added 18 points and finished with an alarming minus 33 rating for the Hawks.
