The Monday NBA schedule will tip-off with a matchup between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Detroit Pistons from Little Caesars Arena. For other NBA action see our NBA Predictions. The Cavaliers (2-1) led the NBA in offensive efficiency and were eliminated by Indiana in last season’s Eastern Conference Semifinals. Last night, Cleveland made the plays down the stretch to earn a 118-113 home victory versus Milwaukee.

All-Star G Donovan Mitchell led a balanced Cleveland scoring attack with 24 points (9-20 FG) and four assists. All-Star F Evan Mobley contributed 23 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. Sam Merrill added 17 points for the Cavaliers, who converted 28 of 35 free-throw attempts.

Pistons Preview

The Detroit Pistons snapped a five-year playoff drought last season and are looking to win their first playoff series since 2008. The Pistons (2-1) lost some key pieces off the bench from last year’s squad, but they still have a strong defensive identity for head coach J.B. Bickerstaff. On Sunday, Detroit outscored Boston by 11 points during the third quarter and held on for a 119-113 home victory.

All-Star G Cade Cunningham tallied a team-high 25 points on 8-for-18 shooting and dished out eight assists. Detroit C Jalen Duren controlled the interior with 24 points (12-13 FT) and 17 rebounds. Ausar Thompson added 21 points and 12 boards for the Pistons, who outrebounded the Celtics by a 54-38 margin.
