Anthony Davis and rookie F Cooper Flagg led six New Orleans players in double figures with 24 points each on a combined 19-for-36 shooting effort. Naji Marshall added 22 points and nine rebounds for the Mavericks, who shot 54 percent from the field.

The New Orleans Pelicans are riding a four-game winning streak and no longer are trapped in the Western Conference cellar. The Pelicans (7-22) rank near the bottom of the league in defensive efficiency and are surrendering 122.5 points per contest. Former number one overall draft pick Zion Williamson tallied a game-high 29 points (11-13 FG) and seven rebounds in just 23 minutes off the New Orleans bench. Saddiq Bey chipped in 18 points and five boards for the Pelicans, who improved to 5-12 at home.
