Golden State Warriors vs Phoenix Suns Picks and Predictions for Saturday October 24 2026

By: Kim Smith Published 10/24/2026, 01:25 AM ET

Golden State opened the season by losing to the Lakers by 22. Phoenix opened by losing to Portland by 41. Somebody is going to have a better weekend than they had Wednesday. The Warriors lost 127-105 in Los Angeles. The Suns got buried 124-83 in Portland, and that game was practically over before Phoenix got its first basket. Neither performance was encouraging, although I’d be careful about deciding an entire season based on one ugly night.

Golden State visits Phoenix at Mortgage Matchup Center on Saturday, October 24, 2026. Tipoff is scheduled for 10:00 PM ET on NBA TV. A reliable Saturday spread and total weren’t confirmed when this preview was written. Find more predictions on our free NBA picks page.

Golden State Warriors Need More Help For Curry

Golden State is 0-1 after losing 127-105 to the Lakers. The Warriors were still within reach at halftime, then got outscored 36-16 in the third quarter. That was the end of the competitive part of the evening.

The Lakers shot 58.2% against Golden State. That’s an ugly defensive number, and Phoenix should get chances if the Warriors don’t improve. Golden State also needs more offense from its supporting cast. Scoring 105 isn’t going to win many games when the defense allows 127.

Stephen Curry scored 23 against the Lakers, including 20 in the first half. Jimmy Butler, Moses Moody and Kristaps Porzingis have been dealing with availability issues, while Brandin Podziemski has had back soreness. Golden State plays Memphis on Friday, so Saturday’s rotation could look different depending on who gets through that game healthy.

Phoenix Suns Need To Put Wednesday Behind Them

Phoenix is 0-1 after losing 124-83 to Portland. The Suns allowed the first 21 points of the game. Twenty-one unanswered. You can probably imagine what the timeout conversations sounded like.

Phoenix shot 36% from the field and made six of 31 threes. That’s a miserable shooting night, and the Suns also had trouble preventing Portland from getting easy baskets. The Warriors have defensive issues of their own, so Phoenix should find some better looks Saturday. It would be difficult to shoot much worse.

The Suns have had several days to work on the opener, while Golden State plays Friday. That’s the advantage I’m interested in. Phoenix doesn’t have to become a championship contender overnight. It just needs a better offensive effort and enough defensive resistance to make Golden State work.

Golden State Warriors vs Phoenix Suns Picks and Predictions

Phoenix Suns Moneyline — Price Pending

I’ll take Phoenix at home. Golden State has Curry, which means the Warriors always have a chance. But the injury situation and Friday’s game against Memphis make this a difficult spot. Phoenix has had time to recover from that Portland embarrassment. I expect a much better effort from the Suns, although the price will determine whether it’s worth betting.

Under — Total Pending

My lean is under. Golden State scored 105 in its opener, and Phoenix managed only 83. Those offenses should improve, but both teams have enough questions that I’m not eager to chase a huge total. The danger is that neither defense can stop anybody. I’d want the posted number before making the bet. Preliminary score: Phoenix 115, Golden State 108.

Final Picks: Phoenix Suns Moneyline (price pending) and Under (total pending)
