Houston Rockets vs Phoenix Suns Picks and Prediction for Saturday November 7 2026
Houston heads to Phoenix on Saturday night for a 9 PM ET game against the Suns at Mortgage Matchup Center. The Rockets just lost to Minnesota on Wednesday, while Phoenix finally picked up a win Thursday against Orlando. Houston has been the better team through the first couple of weeks, and there’s really no argument about that. But Phoenix is home, and the Suns have been putting up enough points to make this interesting. The betting lines weren’t confirmed when I checked, so I’m going with a straight-up winner and a total number I’d be comfortable playing. Get ready for all the NBA action with our free NBA picks.
Houston Rockets Have Been Playing Better Basketball
Houston is 7-2 after losing 117-107 to Minnesota on Wednesday. The Rockets had beaten Boston 109-93 and Oklahoma City 119-98 before that, so the loss wasn’t exactly a sign of everything falling apart. They’ve been playing good basketball, and that includes winning three of their first four road games.
The Rockets are scoring 117.9 points per game and allowing roughly 108. That’s a pretty good combination. They’re shooting 49% from the field and nearly 39% from three. What I like is that Houston doesn’t have to depend entirely on outside shooting. The Rockets can score inside, move the ball, and get second chances. Phoenix has been struggling on the glass, and that’s where Houston could make some money Saturday.
Kevin Durant scored 21 against Minnesota, while Alperen Sengun finished with 17 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. That kind of production matters against a Phoenix team that’s missing size. Steven Adams remains out with a calf injury, and Clint Capela’s ankle is worth checking. Houston could be short on frontcourt depth, but the Rockets still have enough size and scoring to cause problems.

Phoenix Suns Have Been Giving Up Too Much
Phoenix is 2-5 after beating Orlando 117-104 on Thursday. The Suns needed that one. They had lost four straight, including a 132-119 defeat against Portland and a 116-113 loss at Golden State. Phoenix has been scoring enough to stay competitive in some of these games, but the defense keeps putting it in trouble.
The Suns are averaging about 114 points per game and allowing more than 121. They’re shooting around 47% from the floor, so the offense hasn’t been terrible. The problem is they’re not getting enough stops or rebounds. Houston is grabbing nearly 44 rebounds per game, while Phoenix is below 39. That’s a matchup I don’t like for the Suns.
Devin Booker has been averaging around 25 points per game, and he’s the guy Houston needs to make work for everything. But Mark Williams is out after shoulder surgery, while Jordan Goodwin and Rasheer Fleming have been dealing with injuries. Phoenix needs more help inside, especially against a Rockets team that can score without relying on the three-pointer.
Houston Rockets vs Phoenix Suns Picks and Prediction
Moneyline Pick: Houston Rockets
I’m taking Houston. Phoenix finally won Thursday, and playing at home certainly helps. But the Suns have been giving up too many points and losing the rebounding battle too often. Houston is shooting better, defending better, and getting more production inside. The Rockets lost to Minnesota, sure, but that’s a good team. I’m not going to forget Houston’s 7-2 start because of one loss. Give me the Rockets.
Total Pick: Under 231.5 Points
I’ll take the under 231.5 if that’s the number. Phoenix has been involved in some high-scoring games, and the Suns’ defense is what makes this uncomfortable. But Houston plays at one of the slower paces in the league, and the Rockets have been doing a pretty good job defensively. I think Houston tries to control the glass and make Phoenix work in the half court. The Suns could get hot from outside and ruin the whole thing. Still, something around 116-109 looks reasonable to me.
Final Picks: Houston Rockets Moneyline | Under 231.5 Points (if available)
