The Rockets (1-2) landed Kevin Durant in a trade with Phoenix in the offseason and are looking to win their first playoff series since 2021. On Monday, Houston raced out to a 17-point lead after one quarter and cruised to a 137-109 home victory versus Brooklyn.

Tari Eason led all scorers with 22 points (8-12 FG), five rebounds, and five assists in 26 minutes off the Houston bench. All-Star C Alperen Sengun contributed 21 points, six rebounds, and six assists. Kevin Durant added 19 points and six boards for the Rockets, who nailed half of their 32 three-point attempts.

Raptors Preview

The Toronto Raptors have missed the playoffs in four of the last five seasons and have upgraded their roster enough to challenge for a postseason spot in the Eastern Conference. The Raptors (1-3) currently rank 24th in the league in defensive efficiency and are giving up 125 points per contest. On Monday, Toronto fell behind by 19 points at halftime during a 121-103 road loss against San Antonio.

Toronto F R.J. Barrett scored a game-high 25 points on 9-for-18 shooting and finished with a minus 13 rating. Collin Murray-Boyles provided 19 points in 24 minutes off the bench. Immanuel Quickley added 15 points and seven assists for the Raptors, who were dominated on the glass by a 44-20 margin.
