Indiana Pacers vs Miami Heat Picks and Predictions for Friday October 30 2026
Miami is 1-4, hasn’t won at home, and is somehow favored against Indiana. I can already hear somebody asking why they’d bet on the Heat. Fair question. But Indiana has been dealing with a pile of injuries, and Miami still has enough talent to take advantage of that. The Heat haven’t been playing well, but this looks like a decent chance to get things going.
The Pacers visit Kaseya Center in Miami on Friday, October 30, with tipoff at 8:00 PM ET. It’s an NBA Cup group game. Miami is favored by 3.5 points, and the total is 241.5. That’s a high number, but both teams have been giving up plenty of points. I’m taking Miami to cover and leaning Under. Be prepared for all the NBA action with our free NBA picks.
Indiana Pacers Have Been Up and Down
Indiana is 2-3, and the Pacers haven’t been able to string wins together. They beat Brooklyn 136-109 Sunday, then lost 110-102 to Milwaukee Monday and 114-109 to Philadelphia Wednesday. That’s two straight losses after a pretty good offensive night against the Nets. Indiana can score, but the Pacers haven’t been doing it consistently. And when the offense slows down, they haven’t been getting enough stops to make up for it.
The Pacers are averaging around 115 points and allowing about 115. That’s a team playing close games without much room for error. Indiana has been shooting reasonably well, but the defense hasn’t been good enough. The Pacers have also been struggling to control the paint, especially with injuries up front. Miami has plenty of size and can attack the basket, so that’s going to be a problem. Indiana needs to keep the Heat from getting easy looks, and I’m not convinced it can do that for four quarters.

Pascal Siakam has been carrying a lot of the offensive load, while Andrew Nembhard has been handling the ball with Tyrese Haliburton sidelined by a hamstring injury. T.J. McConnell and Ben Sheppard are also out, and Johnny Furphy is done for the season. Ivica Zubac has been dealing with an ankle injury, while Aaron Nesmith and Obi Toppin have also appeared on the injury report. That’s a lot of missing depth. Indiana can still score, but the Pacers are asking too much from too few healthy players right now.
Miami Heat Need to Win at Home
Miami is 1-4, including 0-3 at Kaseya Center. That’s not what anybody expected. The Heat lost to Minnesota 131-106, Detroit 128-111 and Charlotte 115-110 before finally getting their first win Wednesday, beating Atlanta 129-117. That was a much better offensive performance. Miami needed it. The Heat have been giving up too many points, but at least the offense showed some life against the Hawks.
Miami is averaging around 116 points and allowing about 123. That’s not good defensively, and it’s why the Heat have been losing. But they have enough offensive talent to score against Indiana. The Pacers have been allowing about 115 a game, and they’re missing several important players. Miami should be able to get to the basket and create open shots. The Heat don’t need to be perfect defensively. They just need to keep Indiana from getting comfortable.
Giannis Antetokounmpo has been giving Miami more than 30 points a game, while Bam Adebayo has been doing his usual work around the basket. Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins give the Heat outside shooting, and Davion Mitchell has been handling the ball. Simone Fontecchio has been dealing with an illness, but Miami is otherwise in better shape than Indiana. That’s a pretty big advantage when you’re trying to win a game at home.
Indiana Pacers vs Miami Heat Picks and Predictions
Miami Heat -3.5 (-110)
I’m taking Miami minus 3.5. I know the Heat are 1-4, and laying points with a team that hasn’t won at home is never comfortable. But Indiana has too many injuries, especially in the backcourt and around the basket. Miami has enough scoring to take advantage of that, and the Heat just put up 129 against Atlanta. The Pacers can absolutely keep this close if they shoot well, and that’s the danger. But I think Miami can get to the rim, win the rebounding battle and make enough stops late. Give me the Heat by six or seven.
Under 241.5 Points (-110)
I’ll take Under 241.5. That’s a big number, even for two teams that haven’t been defending particularly well. Indiana has scored 102 and 109 in its last two games, and the Pacers are missing several players who help run the offense. Miami just scored 129, but I don’t expect the Heat to do that every night. The danger is both teams getting hot from three and turning this into a track meet. But I think Indiana’s injuries will slow the Pacers down enough to keep the total under. Something like Miami 119-113 sounds right.
Final Picks: Miami Heat -3.5 (-110) and Under 241.5 Points (-110)
