LA Clippers vs Minnesota Timberwolves Picks and Predictions for Friday October 30 2026
The Clippers just scored 87 points against the Lakers. Eighty-seven. That’s a pretty rough night for an NBA team, especially one that’s supposed to have enough veteran talent to compete. Now they’re heading to Minnesota, where the Timberwolves have been playing pretty good basketball. The Wolves lost a close one to Golden State Wednesday, but they’ve been much more consistent than the Clippers. I like Minnesota to bounce back.
The Clippers visit Target Center in Minneapolis on Friday, October 30, with tipoff at 8:00 PM ET. It’s an NBA Cup group game. Minnesota is favored by 9.5 points, with the total at 230.5. That’s a big spread, especially with the Timberwolves missing their best scorer. But the Clippers have been struggling, and I think Minnesota can take advantage. I’m taking the Wolves to cover and leaning Under. Be prepared for all the NBA action with our free NBA picks.
LA Clippers Can’t Find Enough Offense
The Clippers are 1-3 after losing 103-87 to the Lakers Wednesday. That was their third loss in four games. They also lost 108-101 to Oklahoma City and 122-106 to San Antonio, with their only win coming against a struggling opponent. The Clippers have been having trouble scoring, and Wednesday was the worst example yet. They couldn’t get anything going, and the Lakers didn’t have to do much offensively to win.
Los Angeles is averaging around 107 points and allowing about 111. That’s not terrible defensively, but the offense has been a problem. The Clippers have been shooting poorly from three, and they haven’t been getting enough easy baskets. Minnesota has been playing good defense, so I don’t see this matchup getting any easier. The Clippers need to find a way to get to the basket and create better shots. Otherwise, they’re going to spend another night chasing the score.

The Clippers are dealing with a long injury list. Bradley Beal is out with a knee problem, Brandon Ingram has been recovering from heel surgery, and Max Strus is sidelined with a foot injury. Rui Hachimura and Jordan Miller are also unavailable, along with Yanic Konan Niederhauser. That’s a lot of missing scoring and depth. The Clippers have enough experience to stay competitive, but they’re asking too much from the players they have left. Against Minnesota, that’s going to be difficult.
Minnesota Timberwolves Have Been Playing Better Basketball
Minnesota is 3-2 after losing 119-114 to Golden State Wednesday. That was a close game, and the Wolves had chances to win. Before that, they beat Toronto 117-94 and lost a tight 127-125 game to Cleveland. Minnesota has been competitive in every game, and the defense has been pretty good. The Wolves haven’t been getting blown out, which is more than I can say for the Clippers.
Minnesota is averaging around 120 points and allowing about 110. That’s a pretty good difference. The Timberwolves have been getting good shots, moving the ball and controlling the glass. They’ve also been playing better defense than Los Angeles, which should help them build a lead. The Clippers have been struggling to score, and Minnesota has enough size to make things difficult around the basket. I don’t see the Wolves needing a huge offensive night to win this one.
Anthony Edwards is out with a knee injury, and Donte DiVincenzo is sidelined following Achilles surgery. Those are big losses, especially offensively. But Minnesota has been getting contributions from the rest of the roster. The Wolves have enough depth to keep things moving, and they’ve been playing well at home. The Clippers are missing even more players, so Minnesota should still have the advantage.
LA Clippers vs Minnesota Timberwolves Picks and Predictions
Minnesota Timberwolves -9.5 (-110)
I’m laying the points with Minnesota. Nine and a half is a lot, and I don’t love giving that many when Edwards is out. But the Clippers just scored 87 against the Lakers, and they’re missing a pile of players. Minnesota has been the better team, and the Wolves have enough defense to make Los Angeles work for every basket. The danger is Minnesota struggling to score without Edwards, which could keep the Clippers within the number. But I think the Wolves can build a lead and hold it. Give me Minnesota by 12 or 13.
Under 230.5 Points (-110)
I’m taking Under 230.5. The Clippers just scored 87, and they’ve been struggling offensively all season. Minnesota is missing Edwards, which takes away a lot of scoring. The Wolves can still put points on the board, but I don’t think they need to play fast to win. The Clippers will probably try to slow things down and keep this from getting out of hand. The danger is Minnesota getting a bunch of easy baskets off turnovers. But I see something like Wolves 116-102, which keeps us comfortably Under.
Final Picks: Minnesota Timberwolves -9.5 (-110) and Under 230.5 Points (-110)
