Milwaukee Bucks Need To Start Defending Somebody
Milwaukee dropped its opener 128-116 in Washington. The Bucks scored enough to compete, but giving up 128 to the Wizards is going to get people talking. It should. Washington isn’t a team Milwaukee wants to be chasing around the floor all night.
The Bucks’ first problem is keeping opponents out of the paint. Their second is preventing good shooters from getting comfortable once the defense collapses. Philadelphia has enough offensive talent to take advantage of both problems. Milwaukee needs to make Saturday a more physical game instead of letting the 76ers play at whatever pace they want.

Milwaukee also hosts Chicago on Friday, so this is the second game of a back-to-back. That matters. The Bucks can’t afford to spend all their energy trying to beat the Bulls and then arrive in Philadelphia with tired legs. The final injury report and Friday’s minutes will be important.
Philadelphia 76ers Are Off To A Better Start
Philadelphia beat New York 106-100 on opening night, then defeated Cleveland 114-106 on Thursday. Two games, two wins, and a couple of respectable opponents. That’s a start the 76ers will gladly take.
The Philadelphia defense has been the better story so far. Holding New York to 100 and Cleveland to 106 gives the 76ers a chance even when the offense isn’t firing on every possession. Milwaukee scored 116 against Washington, but the Bucks also showed how vulnerable they can be when the game gets loose.
Philadelphia has a day off Friday while Milwaukee plays Chicago. I like that scheduling advantage. The 76ers still have to execute, of course, and a rested team can come out flat. But the combination of home court, early defensive results, and an opponent on consecutive nights is hard to ignore.
