A rematch of the NBA Finals will take place on Thursday night, when the Oklahoma City Thunder invade Gainbridge Fieldhouse to take on the Indiana Pacers. For other NBA action see our NBA Predictions. The NBA Champion Thunder led the NBA in defensive efficiency last season and have the core in place to win multiple titles. On Tuesday, Oklahoma City needed double overtime to escape with a 125-124 home victory versus Houston.

MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander poured in a game-high 35 points (12-26 FG) to go along with five rebounds and five assists. Chet Holmgren contributed 28 points (11-17 FG) and seven rebounds for the Thunder, who were outrebounded by a 52-38 margin.

Pacers Preview

The Indiana Pacers have advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals in consecutive seasons and will be hard pressed to replicate that success. The Pacers (50-32) lost versatile C Myles Turner to Milwaukee in free agency and will play without All-Star G Tyrese Haliburton, who tore his Achilles in Game Seven of the NBA Finals. Talented G Bennedict Mathurin will assume Haliburton’s spot in the Pacers’ starting lineup and has shown flashes of being a big-time scorer.

Three-time All-Star Pascal Siakam will be asked to be more of a facilitator in Haliburton’s absence and has the potential to be an All-NBA level player. Indiana G Andrew Nembhard will continue to push the pace for the offense and is a lockdown specialist on defense.
