Orlando Magic vs Toronto Raptors Picks and Predictions for Friday October 30 2026
Orlando just got beat by 30 points in Toronto, and now I’m supposed to believe the Magic are going to come back two nights later and win in the same building? I don’t see it. Sure, teams get embarrassed and come out angry the next game. Happens all the time. But being angry doesn’t put the ball in the basket, and Orlando couldn’t get much of anything going Wednesday. The Raptors won 129-99, and it wasn’t some fluky finish where everything went wrong in the last five minutes. Toronto was the better team.
They’re back at Scotiabank Arena Friday night for a 7:30 PM ET tipoff in an NBA Cup game. Toronto is favored by 4.5 points, and the total is 224.5. I think the Raptors win again. Probably not by 30, but I don’t need anything close to that. Get prepared for all the NBA games with our free NBA picks.
Orlando Magic Have Some Problems to Figure Out
Orlando is 1-3, and that win over New York Sunday is starting to look like the exception rather than the rule. The Magic beat the Knicks 111-102, which was a pretty good performance. Then they went to Toronto and got knocked around for four quarters. Scoring 99 points is bad enough. Giving up 129 makes it a whole lot worse.
The Magic are scoring around 107 a night and allowing about 119. You aren’t going to win many games with that combination. And I don’t care how early it is in the season. Orlando hasn’t been shooting well from three, which means opponents can make life difficult around the basket. Toronto figured that out Wednesday. The Raptors weren’t giving Orlando much room to work, and the Magic didn’t have enough shooting to make them pay. So what’s changing Friday? That’s what I’d like somebody taking Orlando to explain to me.

Paolo Banchero is out with an ankle injury, and Jalen Suggs is missing time with a knee problem. That’s a lot of offense and defense sitting on the bench. Jonathan Isaac has been dealing with a knee injury too, and the Magic are also missing Noah Penda and Izaiyah Nelson. Franz Wagner and Desmond Bane can score, but asking those two to carry the offense every night isn’t much of a plan. Toronto knows exactly where Orlando wants to go with the ball. Wednesday made that pretty clear.
Toronto Raptors Are Making Teams Work
Toronto is 3-1, and the Raptors have already beaten two teams by at least 30 points. They hammered Chicago 135-92 and just did the same thing to Orlando, winning 129-99. They also beat Washington 112-102. The only loss came against Minnesota, 117-94, and the Timberwolves are a good team. I don’t have much of a problem with that result. The Raptors bounced back instead of letting one bad game turn into three.
What I like about Toronto is that the Raptors aren’t waiting around for somebody to save them. They’re scoring around 117 points a night and allowing about 103. That’s a pretty good difference. They’re getting to the basket, moving the ball and making opponents work on the other end. Against Orlando, they didn’t need some ridiculous shooting performance to win. They got good looks, made the Magic uncomfortable and kept building the lead. That’s how you beat a team that’s missing important players.
Scottie Barnes has been doing a little of everything, and RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley have given Toronto some reliable offense. The Raptors aren’t completely healthy themselves. Kawhi Leonard is out with a knee injury, Brandon Ingram is recovering from Achilles surgery, and Nate Bittle has been dealing with a foot problem. But they’ve been winning without those guys. More importantly, they haven’t been asking one player to do everything. That’s a big difference from what Orlando is dealing with.
Orlando Magic vs Toronto Raptors Picks and Predictions
Toronto Raptors -4.5 (-115)
I’m taking Toronto minus 4.5. Orlando can come out angry, play harder and still lose by ten. That’s the thing. The Magic aren’t suddenly getting Banchero and Suggs back just because they got embarrassed Wednesday. Toronto has been the better team, and the Raptors already know how to attack this lineup. I wouldn’t expect another 30-point beating. Orlando should make some adjustments, and the Magic probably won’t shoot quite as poorly. But I still don’t see enough offense to beat Toronto on the road. Give me the Raptors by eight or nine.
Under 224.5 Points (-110)
I’ll take Under 224.5. Orlando scored 99 Wednesday, and the Magic haven’t been getting much offense without Banchero and Suggs. Toronto could certainly put up another big number, and that’s what makes this a little uncomfortable. The Raptors scored 129 in the first meeting. But if Orlando wants to avoid getting embarrassed again, it needs to slow things down and defend better. I think the Magic will at least try to make this a more physical, lower-scoring game. Toronto doesn’t need 129 to win. Something like 114-104 Raptors would be fine with me.
Final Picks: Toronto Raptors -4.5 (-115) and Under 224.5 Points (-110)
