The Magic (2-4) dealt four first round draft picks to acquire G Desmond Bane in the offseason and are ready to contend in the watered down Eastern Conference. On Thursday, Orlando built a 13-point halftime advantage and cruised to a 123-107 road victory against Charlotte.

Franz Wagner led a balanced Orlando scoring attack with 21 points (8-16 FG) and five rebounds. All-Star F Paolo Banchero contributed 20 points (8-12 FG), nine rebounds, and nine assists. Wendell Carter Jr. added 18 points and eight boards for the Magic, who connected on 16-for-38 from the three-point line.

The Washington Wizards feature a roster with nine former first round draft picks and have their sights set on the future. The Wizards (1-4) rank near the bottom of the league in defensive efficiency and are surrendering an alarming 129 points per contest. On Thursday, Washington turned the ball over 23 times during a 127-108 road loss against Oklahoma City.

Veteran Washington G C.J. McCollum knocked down 5-for-8 from long distance and scored a team-high 19 points. Bilal Coulibaly added 16 points (6-12 FG) and eight rebounds for the Wizards, who were outscored 35-24 over the final 12 minutes.
