The seventh-seeded 76ers (45-37) finished three games above .500 on the road during the regular season and increased their overall win total by 20 games from last year. On Wednesday, Philadelphia limited Orlando to 42 points in the second half to earn a 109-97 home victory.

All-Star G Tyrese Maxey led five Philadelphia players in double figures with 31 points (11-25 FG) and six assists. Rookie G V.J. Edgecombe and G/F Kelly Oubre Jr. scored 19 points each on a combined 13-for-28 shooting effort. Paul George added 18 points, five rebounds, and five assists for the 76ers.

Celtics Preview

The Boston Celtics were eliminated in the second round of the playoffs a season ago and figured to be without injured F Jayson Tatum (Achilles) for the year. The second-seeded Celtics (56-26) ranked second in the league in offensive efficiency and averaged 114.9 points per contest. Boston won 30 of 41 home games and limited opponents to 107.2 points overall.

All-Star G Jaylen Brown has cemented himself as one of the top two-way players in basketball. Brown ranked fourth in the NBA in scoring (28.7 ppg) and averaged a career-best 6.9 rebounds. Since his return from injury, Jayson Tatum appeared in 16 games and scored 21.8 points per contest. Payton Pritchard (17.0 ppg) provided plenty of scoring punch off the Boston bench.
