Portland is heading back on the road Monday, where the Trail Blazers have won all three games they've played. Their latest was a 112-90 victory over Utah on Saturday, bringing Portland's record to 4-1. The Blazers lead the Northwest Division and sit third in the Western Conference. Denver is third in the Northwest and eighth in the West at 3-2 after beating Phoenix 127-120 on Friday. The Nuggets have won two straight, setting up an interesting meeting at Ball Arena. Portland Trail Blazers
It's been an interesting first five games for Portland. The Blazers opened by beating Phoenix 124-83, won two more on the road, then got a reminder against Memphis that things won't always come easily. They lost that one by 21 before answering with a comfortable win in Utah. Deni Avdija has been Portland's leading scorer at 22.8 points per game, but he's also handing out 6.5 assists. Damian Lillard is averaging 18.5 points, and Toumani Camara has made four three-pointers per game while shooting 53.3% from beyond the arc.
Saturday's game in Utah looked a lot more like Portland's opener than its loss to Memphis. The Jazz finished with 90 points, just seven more than Phoenix managed against the Blazers. Those results have helped keep Portland's points allowed at 109.2 per game despite giving up 129 to the Lakers. Donovan Clingan has been getting plenty of work near the rim, averaging nine rebounds and 2.2 blocks. Portland has also grabbed 46 rebounds per game. That work becomes especially important against Denver, where Nikola Jokic can create problems both scoring and passing.
Injuries: Ja Morant and Shaedon Sharpe are out.

Denver Nuggets
Denver has already played New Orleans twice, winning both meetings in very different ways. The Nuggets needed overtime to take the first one 141-135, then held the Pelicans to 91 points four days later. Friday brought another win, this time in Phoenix. Jamal Murray has been scoring 25.8 points per game, including strong shooting from outside at 53.5%. Nikola Jokic is averaging 21.2 points and 9.2 assists. Denver has plenty of ways to score when those two get comfortable.
Stopping the other team has been less predictable. Golden State scored 134 against Denver, and New Orleans reached 135 in their overtime meeting. The Nuggets have allowed 115.2 points per game, with Christian Braun averaging 2.4 steals and Jokic contributing 1.4 blocks. Denver also gives up a rebounding advantage to Portland, collecting 43.6 boards compared with the Blazers' 46. The Nuggets will have their hands full if Portland gets back to the scoring pace it showed earlier in the season.
Injuries: Alpha Diallo and Spencer Jones are questionable. Julian Strawther is out.
Portland Trail Blazers vs Denver Nuggets Prediction
Portland has been difficult to beat away from home, and its recent win over Utah was a good response to the Memphis loss. Denver has the advantage of playing at Ball Arena, but the Nuggets have allowed some big scoring nights already. The Blazers have enough offense to make this close, and their work on the boards could help them finish the job. Final Score Prediction: Portland Trail Blazers win and cover ATS, 123-118.
