Portland Trail Blazers vs Los Angeles Lakers Picks and Prediction for Friday November 6 2026

By: Kim Smith Published 11/06/2026, 12:15 AM ET

Portland comes back to Los Angeles on Friday night for a 10 PM ET game against the Lakers at Crypto.com Arena, with the game on Prime Video. The Trail Blazers already beat the Lakers 136-129 in this building on October 27, so Los Angeles has a little unfinished business. Portland just scored 132 in Phoenix, and the Lakers are coming off a 116-103 win at Sacramento. The Lakers are favored by 3.5 points, with the total sitting at 238.5. I like the way both teams are playing, but there’s one part of this matchup that keeps pushing me toward Portland. Get in on all the NBA action with our free NBA picks.

Portland Trail Blazers Are Playing Some Good Basketball

Portland is 6-1 after beating Phoenix 132-119 on Wednesday. That’s three straight wins, including a 118-110 victory in Denver and a 112-90 win at Utah. Pretty good road trip. The Blazers have been getting results against decent competition, and they’ve already proved they can score against the Lakers.

Portland is averaging 120.2 points and allowing 109.3. That’s nearly an 11-point difference. The Blazers are also grabbing 47.5 rebounds per game, compared with 40.1 for the Lakers. That could be important Friday. Los Angeles has been shooting the ball well, but Portland can make up for some of that with extra possessions and second-chance points.

Deni Avdija is averaging 23.8 points and 5.5 assists, while Donovan Clingan is pulling down 10.5 rebounds. Those are the guys helping Portland create offense and control the glass. Ja Morant is out with a hamstring injury, and Shaedon Sharpe remains out following knee surgery. That’s a lot of backcourt production to be missing, but the Blazers have still been winning. The depth gets tested again Friday.

Los Angeles Lakers Have Been Scoring in Bunches

The Lakers are 6-2 after beating Sacramento 116-103 on Wednesday. Before that, they put 138 on Miami and 131 on Toronto. That’s a pretty good offensive stretch. Los Angeles has won three straight, and the Lakers have been getting enough scoring to cover up some defensive issues.

Los Angeles is averaging 122.5 points while allowing 115.2. The Lakers are shooting 52% from the field and nearly 40% from three-point range. Those are impressive early numbers. But they’re also committing more than 18 turnovers a game, and that’s something Portland can take advantage of. Give a good offensive team extra possessions, and you can find yourself in trouble quickly.

Luka Dončić has been averaging 38.3 points and 8.1 assists, and that’s a pretty ridiculous start. Walker Kessler is pulling down 10.5 rebounds a game. The Lakers have the individual scoring advantage, no question. Adou Thiero is listed out with a knee issue, but the main pieces have been doing enough to keep Los Angeles winning. The problem Friday is facing a Portland team that’s already shown it can score with them.

Portland Trail Blazers vs Los Angeles Lakers Picks and Prediction

Spread Pick: Portland Trail Blazers +3.5 (-105)

I’ll take Portland and the 3.5 points. The Lakers are home, they’re shooting better than 50% from the floor, and Dončić has been putting up monster numbers. I get why they’re favored. But Portland already won here by seven, and the Blazers are allowing about six fewer points per game than Los Angeles. They’re also the better rebounding team. That gives them a chance to hang around even if the Lakers shoot well. Could Los Angeles get revenge? Absolutely. But I think this is another close one, and I’ll take the points.

Total Pick: Over 238.5 (-110)

Give me the over 238.5. These teams combined for 265 points in their first meeting, and both have been scoring better than 120 per game. Los Angeles has been shooting extremely well, while Portland just put up 132 in Phoenix. The number is high, and that’s what makes this a little uncomfortable. Portland’s defense has actually been pretty good, so there’s a chance the Blazers slow things down. But I think the Lakers push the pace at home, and Portland has enough offense to answer. I’ll take the over.

Final Picks: Portland Trail Blazers +3.5 (-105) | Over 238.5 (-110)
