San Antonio opened 0-1 after losing 116-104 to Oklahoma City on Tuesday. Losing to the Thunder isn’t exactly a reason to panic. The defending Western Conference power is going to make plenty of opponents look uncomfortable.
The Spurs scored 104, and that wasn’t enough to keep up. Their offense needs cleaner possessions and better shot selection, especially when the opponent has enough talent to punish mistakes. Dallas allowed 128 against Houston, which should give San Antonio opportunities it didn’t consistently find against Oklahoma City.

Victor Wembanyama remains the matchup problem Dallas has to solve. His ability to affect shots around the basket changes how opponents attack. The Spurs also play Houston on Friday, though, so minutes and availability will matter before Saturday’s trip to Dallas.
