The Thunder (6-2) are undefeated through four home games and are a half-game back for the top spot in the Western Conference. On Wednesday, Oklahoma City jumped out to a 17-point lead after one quarter and coasted to a 124-116 home victory versus Cleveland.
MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander poured in a game-high 42 points (15-19 FT) to go along with eight assists and four rebounds. Oklahoma City G Ajay Mitchell contributed 23 points (9-17 FG), seven rebounds, and four assists. Rookie G Bennett Stirtz added 16 points (4-7 3PT) in 22 minutes off the Thunder bench.
The Thunder have led the league in defensive efficiency in back-to-back seasons and currently rank ninth in that category. During Wednesday’s victory, Oklahoma City connected on 15-for-36 from the three-point line and shot 46 percent overall. The Thunder converted 27-of-35 free-throw attempts and led by as many as 25 points.
