The Wizards (1-3) rank in the bottom third of the league in defensive efficiency and are surrendering 129.5 points per game. On Tuesday, Washington was unable to protect a 16-point lead entering the fourth quarter of a 139-134 overtime loss versus Philadelphia.

Alex Sarr led eight Washington players in double figures with 31 points (13-23 FG), 11 rebounds, and five assists. Kyshawn George scored 20 points (8-17 FG) to go along with nine rebounds and seven assists. Marvin Bagley III added 14 points and seven rebounds in 19 minutes off the bench for the Wizards.

Thunder Preview

The Oklahoma City Thunder led the league in defensive efficiency last season and appear to be well positioned to defend their NBA title. The Thunder (5-0) currently rank second in defensive efficiency and are allowing 110.8 points per contest. On Tuesday, Oklahoma City erased a ten-point deficit to earn a 107-101 home victory versus Sacramento.

MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander tallied a game-high 31 points on 14-for-26 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds. Aaron Wiggins contributed 18 points (7-15 FG), six rebounds, and six assists. Ajay Mitchell scored 18 points in 24 minutes off the Thunder bench.
