Now 3-2-1, Anaheim is starting to look more cohesive, with better puck movement and steadier play from their back end. Lukas Dostal is expected to start and has held his own early this season.

Anaheim’s forward group has come alive during the last two games, capitalizing on turnovers and converting chances off the rush. The Ducks have also cleaned up their special teams play, which could be key against a Bruins squad that’s struggled to stay out of the box and hasn’t capitalized on the power play.

Boston, meanwhile, is trying to stop the bleeding after dropping five straight and falling to 3-5-0. The Bruins’ most recent loss came against Florida, where they gave up a late goal and again struggled to close. Jeremy Swayman is expected to start and will need a bounce-back performance to steady a shaky Bruins group.

Boston has the advantage of home ice and a veteran core, but the group is lacking energy and execution in all three zones. Unless they tighten their neutral zone gaps and win more puck battles along the boards, they could once again be chasing the game late.
