Anaheim Ducks vs Philadelphia Flyers Picks and Predictions for Saturday October 24 2026
Anaheim could use a win. Actually, Anaheim could use a few things right now, starting with a game where the Ducks don’t spend half the afternoon trying to dig themselves out of a hole. Five straight losses. That’s what they’re carrying into Philadelphia, and Thursday’s 4-1 defeat in New Jersey wasn’t particularly encouraging. The Flyers, meanwhile, have somehow put together three straight victories after starting the season without a win in their first nine games. Funny how quickly things change in hockey.
The Ducks visit the Flyers at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia on Saturday, October 24, 2026. Puck drop is scheduled for 1:00 PM ET, with NHL Network and NBC Sports Philadelphia among the television options. Philadelphia is a slight moneyline favorite around -115, while Anaheim is approximately +115. The total is 5.5 goals. Check out our free NHL picks for more hockey predictions.
Anaheim Ducks Can’t Keep Falling Behind
Anaheim comes in at 4-6-0 following Thursday’s loss to New Jersey. The Ducks have dropped five straight, and the road trip hasn’t been much fun. They lost 5-2 to the Rangers, 3-2 to the Islanders and then 4-1 to the Devils. Against New Jersey, Anaheim was down 2-0 before Tim Washe finally got one past Nico Daws in the third period.
The Ducks managed just 17 shots against the Devils. Seventeen. That’s not going to win many hockey games, especially when the opponent is spending so much time around your net. Anaheim allowed 29 shots and gave up three goals before New Jersey added an empty-netter. The Ducks need more offensive-zone time and fewer shifts spent chasing the puck.

Frank Vatrano and Alex Killorn scored against the Islanders, while Washe had the lone goal Thursday. Jackson LaCombe picked up an assist against New Jersey, and Beckett Sennecke had a good scoring chance turned away by Daws. Ville Husso made 25 saves Thursday after Lukas Dostal handled the Islanders game. Anaheim has enough offensive talent to be more dangerous than this, but it hasn’t been getting much sustained pressure lately.
Philadelphia Flyers Are Finally Winning Some Games
Philadelphia is 3-6-3 after beating Buffalo 3-1 on Wednesday. That made three consecutive wins following an 0-6-3 start. The Flyers also beat Ottawa 3-1 and Colorado 3-2 during this stretch. They’re not suddenly the best team in the Metropolitan Division, but at least they’re playing hockey that gives them a chance.
The biggest difference has been the goaltending and a little more discipline around the net. Dan Vladar stopped 27 shots against Buffalo, and the Flyers didn’t need to score five goals to win. Philadelphia has allowed just four goals during its three-game winning streak. Against an Anaheim club struggling to create shots, that’s a matchup I like.
Cole Knuble had quite a night in Buffalo, scoring the first two goals of his NHL career in just his second game. Trevor Zegras added a power-play goal, Oliver Bonk collected two assists, and Matvei Michkov helped create the Zegras goal. Tyson Foerster also returned after missing a game. The Flyers have been getting contributions from different places, which is something they weren’t doing consistently during that miserable start.
Anaheim Ducks vs Philadelphia Flyers Picks and Predictions
Philadelphia Flyers Moneyline (-115)
I’ll take Philadelphia. The Flyers aren’t a team I’d normally rush to back, particularly after the way their season began. But they’ve won three straight, Vladar has been solid, and Anaheim is having a hard time generating enough offense. Seventeen shots against New Jersey won’t get it done. The Ducks are capable of breaking out, and that makes this a little uncomfortable, but at close to even money I’ll back the home team.
Under 5.5 Goals (-113)
I’m playing the under. Philadelphia has allowed four goals over its last three games, and Anaheim scored only one against New Jersey. The Ducks haven’t been putting enough pressure on opposing goalies. The concern is that an early goal or two could open things up, especially if Anaheim starts taking chances to end its losing streak. Still, this looks more like a 3-2 afternoon than a 5-4 game.
Final Picks: Philadelphia Flyers Moneyline (-115) and Under 5.5 Goals (-113)
