Boston Bruins vs St. Louis Blues Picks and Predictions for Thursday October 29 2026
Boston is playing some pretty good hockey right now, and I’m not going to make this harder than it needs to be. The Bruins have won nine of thirteen games, they’re scoring almost four goals a night, and they’ve been keeping opponents off the board. St. Louis has been hanging around .500, but the Blues haven’t shown the same kind of consistency. If Boston brings its usual effort Thursday, I like its chances.
The Bruins visit Enterprise Center in St. Louis Thursday night, with puck drop at 8:00 PM ET. Boston has been one of the better road teams in the East, while St. Louis has played respectable hockey at home. I like Boston on the moneyline, and I’m leaning Under 6.5 goals. Boston Bruins Have Been Taking Care of Business
Boston is 9-3-1, including a 4-1-1 road record. The Bruins have won seven of their last ten games, and they’ve been scoring 4.1 goals a night during that stretch. That’s a lot of offense. They also have been allowing only 2.1 goals over those ten games, which is the number that really catches my eye. It’s one thing to score four. It’s another thing to score four while making the other team work for two.
Boston has scored 49 goals in thirteen games, an average of 3.8. The Bruins have been doing that without needing to fire forty shots on goal every night. They’re getting good chances and finishing them. Defensively, they’ve been keeping opponents away from the middle of the ice and blocking shots when they have to. The penalty kill hasn’t been perfect, but the overall defensive work has been good enough that Boston hasn’t had to chase games very often.

The Bruins have been fortunate with injuries compared to a lot of teams. There weren’t any players listed as out in the latest matchup report. That’s a pretty big advantage this early in the season. Boston can keep its lines together, and the coaching staff doesn’t have to keep moving people around just to fill holes. Against a St. Louis team missing several players, that continuity matters.
St. Louis Blues Have Been Up and Down
St. Louis is 5-6-1, with a 3-1-1 record at home. That’s the best thing I can say about the Blues heading into Thursday. They’ve been tougher to beat in their own building than they have been on the road. But they’ve gone 4-5-1 over their last ten games, and they’re averaging three goals while allowing 2.9. That’s a team playing a lot of close games without winning enough of them.
The Blues are scoring around 2.9 goals a game and giving up about 3.1. They haven’t been terrible, but they haven’t been good enough defensively to handle teams that can score in bunches. Boston has been doing exactly that. St. Louis will need to slow the Bruins down through the neutral zone and avoid taking unnecessary penalties. Give Boston too many power plays and you’re asking for trouble.
St. Louis has a fairly long injury list. Torey Krug is out with an ankle injury, Tyler Tucker has a knee problem, and Logan Mailloux is sidelined with a hand injury. Ross Johnston and Dillon Dube are also unavailable, while Adam Jecho is away for personal reasons. That’s a lot of missing depth. The Blues can still put together a good game at home, but I don’t like their chances of keeping Boston quiet for sixty minutes with that many players out.
Boston Bruins vs St. Louis Blues Picks and Predictions
Boston Bruins Moneyline
Give me Boston. The Bruins are 4-1-1 on the road, they’re scoring 3.8 goals a game, and they’ve been allowing barely more than two over their last ten. St. Louis has been respectable at home, and that’s enough to make me think this could be close. But Boston has been playing better hockey at both ends. The Bruins don’t need a perfect night to win this one. They just need to keep doing what they’ve been doing. I’ll take Boston on the moneyline rather than mess around with the puck line.
Under 6.5 Goals — Target Total
I’m going Under 6.5. Boston has been allowing only 2.1 goals per game over its last ten, and St. Louis hasn’t been lighting up the scoreboard. The Bruins can score four themselves, so there’s always a chance this gets away from the Under. But I think St. Louis will try to slow things down rather than trade rushes with Boston. If the Blues can keep the Bruins around three goals, the total should be fine. I see something like Boston 3-2.
Final Picks: Boston Bruins Moneyline and Under 6.5 Goals (target total)
